Ordering your Wedding Cake
At Karl's Bakery, we want your wedding cake ordering experience to be as enjoyable and as easy as possible. We understand that choosing not only a cake design but also cake flavors, fillings and icing can be an overwhelming task. That's why we're here!
Cake Design
Our decorators can do almost any cake design imaginable. We have cake books on site for you to browse through while you enjoy coffee and lunch, or if you have a picture of a cake that you found in a magazine, or a photo of a cake, bring it in for us to look at.
Cake Tasting
All of our cake flavors, fillings and icings can be found under our wedding cake options. Unlike some bakeries, we don't require you to make an appointment to come in and sample our cake. Just give us a call and tell us what day you'll be in, and we'll have a delicious assortment of cake & filling combos ready for you when you arrive (one or two days advanced notice is appreciated). Be sure to let us know if there is anything in particular that you'd like to try.
Number of Guests
This can be a tricky aspect of ordering a cake, because many times the bride and groom have no idea how many people will be attending. Please rest assured that we don't require an exact number of guests until you know for sure. In addition, depending on the cake design you choose, we'll custom fit your cake to feed however many you'll need.

To give you an idea of what your cake will cost, please check out our wedding cake price list. For an official price quote, you will need to speak with a Karl's associate.
When to Place Your Order
Many bakeries require that you place your order months in advance. Although this makes planning for your cake much easier for the decorator, at Karl's Bakery, we're pretty relaxed about when you place your order. Ideally, we'd like 2 -3 months notice, but we've done wedding cakes with as little as two weeks notice. So, don't hesitate to approach us just because you've waited to the last minute to put in that cake order. We love to make wedding cakes!
Placing Your Order
We prefer that you place your order on site at the bakery. This allows for us to talk with you one on one and to truly understand what you want. You have the option to meet with the decorator, or a Karl's associate; either way your cake order is guaranteed to be correct. If you cannot make it in, we are always happy to take your order by phone. Any photos or pictures can be mailed or emailed, but we prefer that any color swatches be mailed, so that we can guarantee a perfect match.
Deposits
Depending on your cake design, pillars, plates or cake boards may be used. Some bridal parties choose not to return these items due to inconvenience, or because the items are misplaced. For this reason, we charge $20 per tier to cover the loss of these items; however, this charge will be refunded if all plates, pillars and boards are returned undamaged.
